This last week went by really quickly and was super busy. We had a few cool lessons at the beginning of the week after Zone Conference, one was a dutch family with three young kids. They live in an old brick house which they are renovating in Etten Leur. He and his wife were quite interested and asked questions and listened intently, and at least the man is going to be thinking about our message. His wife seemed really interested until the very end when she said "I don't think I'm interested anymore" when we asked when we could come back and discuss the plan of salvation. But, I think our message made it deeper into their minds than usual. We taught another very active Christian couple the first lesson, they were also interested, although they didn't say they wanted to investigate any further, but they said we could come back "sometime" and talk. The man said that he would read in the book of mormon, which he already had, but hasn't read much of. They were both very friendly and they were really enjoyable lessons to be a part of.
We had another couple lessons through the week which were people that let us in to "hear our message in ten minutes". So far that approach has worked pretty well. We talk to a lot of different people on the door and get to share bits of our message and how we are like that, which is also very satisfying. We've been trying to adjust our general approach in order to overcome the inconsistencies that people have between what they think we are on their door to do and what we're actually there to offer.
This Saturday is transfer calls since, this transfer was five weeks. Thanks so much for the birthday gifts! I got the T25 package with the CTR rings, the Yoga dvd, and a letter from Tony with the YSA branch as address. Zone training was really good, Also President Bunnell presented our new mission goals, so that's exciting. I got to go up during lunch because it was my birthday. Each person that goes up is treated to compliments from the present missionaries for one minute each, so that's always fun. Also, we each get a little gift bag from the Bunnells.
We missionaries usually don't have to do anything in the wards I've been in, we usually just sit in gospel principles class. Last week we had to teach it, plus we were invited to young womens to share some of our experiences with prayer.
Love, Elder Knaupp
